Your next big thing
Your next big opportunity probably isn't sitting in your contacts yet...but it might be sitting in mine.
There is a reason why VC firms and angel investors alike prefer warm intros over cold outreach. The only unfair advantage you can have in life is the people you know.
But showing up consistently surely increases the odds of getting one.
Someone who is working on something new. Something audacious. Sometimes, even something mundane. In a space deemed overcrowded by the media, investors and pundits alike.
And yet. When you speak to them, you can see the fire in them that drives them. Just listen to them talk about the space. Not even their own product, but just the space. And you can almost taste how passionate they are about the problem they are working on.
Ask them questions. Passionate response.
Try showing them the risks in the space. An equally passionate defense. Full of logical, well thought out rationals on why their approach would be able to mitigate the challenges they know to be right around the corner.
There are very few things in life that come close to feeling that level of passion for anything.
Here is to those who feel passionately about that one thing in their life. Passionate enough to leave their cushy jobs behind. Passionate enough to burn the midnight oil when their peers are out their chugging pitchers of beer.
I’m rooting for you!
