Cold DM

Cold DM

If you don't ask, the answer is always no. Send the DM. You can always modify your approach later.

I just talked to a creator who's killing it.

$30K monthly recurring revenue ghostwriting for B2B founders. Built his entire business from scratch in eighteen months. No fancy marketing funnel. No huge social media following.

Just cold DMs.

And yet. Most people are terrified of the cold outreach. They overthink the message. They worry about seeming pushy. They convince themselves it doesn't work.

"Send that cold DM," he tells me. "Seriously. Just send it."

His approach? Dead simple. He researches the founder. Finds something they've written or said recently. Crafts a three-sentence message that shows he actually paid attention.

Not "I can help grow your business." Not "Let me know if you're interested in content marketing."

Instead: "Loved your thread about retention metrics yesterday. I help founders like you turn those insights into LinkedIn content that actually drives pipeline. Mind if I send you a sample based on your thread?"

Ask him about his success rate. He laughs. "Maybe 5% respond. But 5% of a lot of messages is a lot of clients."

The math is beautiful. Send 100 thoughtful DMs, get 5 conversations, close 1 or 2 clients. Do that consistently for six months and you've got a business.

But you have to actually send the messages.

Here's to those brave enough to hit send. Smart enough to know that the worst thing that happens is nothing at all.

Send the DM!
